Automate the gate you already have.

Not necessarily. Our 24 V kits let you keep the power supply in the garage or shed and run low-voltage cable out to the gate, which avoids trenching a 240 V circuit down the driveway. If there's no practical way to get a cable there at all, a standalone solar kit with a panel and batteries at the gate will run a gate that cycles multiple times a day, and keep running through a prolonged stretch without sun. High duty cycle and commercial sites typically still want mains at the gate, or a larger solar system, which we also supply.

Most people do. The mechanical side is bolt-on and the wiring is low voltage. Every kit ships with detailed instructions, most have video guides to go with them, and our phone support is free whether you bought the kit last week or three years ago.

Measure the gate and tell us what it's made of. Aluminium slat, steel tube with palings, solid steel sheet and hardwood all weigh very differently over the same span, and solid infill also catches wind — which loads a motor far harder than weight alone. Send us the width, height and material and we'll size it for you.

Every kit has a manual release so you can push the gate open by hand after unlocking. Most of our motors are 24 V and have the option of an internal battery, so they'll keep cycling for a good portion of the day without mains power. If your driveway is your only way out, ask us about battery backup before you order.

Typically not. Every brand uses its own proprietary coding, even where the frequency matches. In most cases a receiver can be fitted to your existing equipment instead, so one new remote operates both the gate and the garage door on separate buttons.

Typically yes, provided the intercom has a gate release or gate operation feature. Tell us the brand and model and we'll confirm before you spend anything.

Yes. An automatic gate is a machine, and photocells are what stop it before it touches a child, a pet or a car. They're included in most of our kits, base kits aside. The equipment also has obstruction sensing, but that only reacts once the gate has pushed against something, and depending on the capacity of the system there can be a delay before it does.
